Real Madrid confirm Cristiano Ronaldo & Jose Mourinho rowed after Valencia match

Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho were involved in a heated row after Real Madrid’s match against Valencia earlier this week,according to The Sun.
The stunning bust-up happened between the two following Real Madrid’s 2-0 victory over Valencia in the Copa Del Rey, and was revealed by reports in Spain on Saturday.
Madrid boss Mourinho allegedly had a dig at Ronaldo’s work-rate towards the end of the game, and the Portugal international is thought to have snapped back during a frank discussion in the changing room after the match.
The report claims Ronaldo told Mourinho: “I give my life for you and you are wrong to criticse me.”
But on Satuday Real Madrid centre-back Raul Albiol tried to play down the incident.
Albiol said: “After the matches the boss can have an opinion and tell a player.
“In this case they are two winners like Mourinho and Cristiano who are ambitious and demand a lot of themselves. They had an exchange of opinions but nothing more. It will not affect the team nor our performance.
“It stays there because we have an important match in Valencia and we want to win.”
This would not be the first time Mourinho has locked horns with one of his players – Iker Casillas, Fabio Coentrao and Sergio Ramos have all fallen out with the former-Chelsea boss over the past few months, and tensions at the Bernabeu are running high as the La Liga champions trail rivals Barcelona be a massive 18 points in the leage.
According to the report, Mourinho allegedly told Ronaldo: “In the last 15 minutes you went hiding, Cris. You know that in the knock-out games an away goal counts for a lot. You have to work hard until the end.”
The timing is not ideal for Mourinho’s side, as they face Manchester United in a crunch Champions League last-16 tie in just three weeks time.
Ronaldo is set to return to Old Trafford for the first time since he left the club in a £80m deal in 2009, and the Portugal international is still highly regarded by the United fans and staff.
