Barcelona have reportedly asked Dani Alves to do all he can to keep Neymar out of the clutches of Chelsea and Manchester City, and convince his fellow Brazilian to secure a transfer to the Camp Nou.
Neymar is one of the most sought after players on the planet and, along with Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City, the 20-year-old Santos star has also been linked with transfers to Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
According to Goal.com, Barcelona have informed Santos they are willing to pay €60 million to sign Neymar, and are to use Alves as their secret weapon to claim his signature.
Neymar and Alves reportedly enjoy an incredibly close relationship, and Barcelona hope their right-back will use his connection with his compatriot to the Catalan club's advantage.
Alves, 29, has reportedly been telling Neymar that he could help Barcelona become an unstoppable force were he to join a club already boasting the incomparable talents of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, among others.
Chelsea, though, have a stronger Brazilian contingent than Barcelona, and the trio of Oscar, Ramires and David Luiz are likely to try to play some part should the Stamford Bridge club formalise their interest in Neymar.
Oscar, who has flourished since his big money transfer from Brazil to Europe, has previously pleaded publicly with Neymar to join Chelsea, although the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United may have something to say in this long running transfer story.
