Lampard considers breaking Chelsea hearts with Manchester United move

Frank Lampard is agonising over a move to Manchester United, which would in-turn break the hearts of Chelsea fans.
The Daily Express claims Sir Alex Ferguson is considering an offer for the England international, who is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The paper goes on to report that Lampard is flattered the interest of both the Red Devils and Arsenal, but knows that a move to either of Chelsea’s Premier League rivals would be badly received by the club’s fans after 12-years of service in west London.
“Frank has been incredibly touched by the support he has received from Chelsea fans in recent weeks and feels a real emotional bond with them,” a source close to Lampard told The Daily Express.
“He is aware that a move to Manchester United could damage his relations with fans and his legendary status at Chelsea.
“Look at how Arsenal fans received Robin van Persie’s move to Manchester United. Frank has to think of what remains of his career and the lure of a move to Old Trafford. The chance to see out his career in the Premier League is a big one.”
Manchester United tried to land Lampard back in 2001, according to the paper, and Ferguson is unconcerned about the central midfielders advancing years.
Indeed, the Scot has been more than happy put his faith in experience over recent years, with veterans Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes forming the bedrock of success for 20-time English champions.
Lampard could join that illustrious duo in a career swansong at Old Trafford, but if he does join the Red Devils, he’ll know that Chelsea fans may not forgive him as he continues his career in the English top flight.
